New York is taking bold steps to fight sepsis

State lawmakers in New York are implementing new legislation called "Rory's Regulations." This legislation will mandate that all
New York hospitals adopt and practice an evidence-based protocol for sepsis. The purpose of this new law will be to arm clinicians with the tools and processes they need to quickly identify sepsis and begin treatment.

What does this mean for you?

If you are a clinician or hospital administrator in the State of New York, you will soon be tasked with adopting a new protocol for sepsis.

Take the initiative toward building your sepsis protocol by learning all you can about the available tools, such as procalcitonin. Procalcitonin provides an early available clue to sepsis--a condition in which early intervention can be life-saving.
